Best b&b in New Zealand - Magical place overlooking the ocean. We had a 2 night stay here in the (Kaiwanga Room)and I think it has been the best place we have stayed during our holiday. It’s an idyllic little spot on a hill, overlooking the ocean. We could have spent all day just looking at the ever changing Ocean view. The room was very clean and fresh and led straight on to a fab little deck (overlooking a well kept garden)on which we enjoyed several glasses of wine!

There were self catering and dining facilities inside and out, and the gorgeous restaurant Luke’s Kitchen, which was so busy we had a takeout from the campsite and ate on our deck overlooking the view.

The breakfast was fantastic with fresh fruit from the garden (plums and mountain paw paw). Our products were local and/or environmentally friendly.

    Host was fantastic too.

Idyllic hideaway with a terrific owner

We had been recommended Kaeppeli’s by two lots of friends and we were not disappointed. Our separate bungalow with two bedrooms, simply but comfortably furnished with all amenities even a hairdryer, and a fabulous terrace had wonderful views and some friendly goats to eat our organic kitchen waste!

The plums were in season and it was fantastic to pluck a couple off the tree returning home, and to eat them stewed for breakfast as part of the spread Jill provides each morning in the gazebo also with fabulous views.

A great bonus to be on the round walk of the surrounding areas through the kauri forests and the views over the bays. Sadly two nights was all too short, one should really chill out and unwind in this magical place and explore the area more. Or simply sit and read!
